Kevin Beary, Independent Security Consultant, served as Sheriff of Orange County, Florida for 16 years and he went about the task at hand his way. Sheriff Kevin Beary is a third generation law enforcement officer with a steadfast commitment to his community, his agency, and the men and women who serve within it. During Kevin Beary’s tenure as the county’s 27th Sheriff he celebrated the many success stories written during his term with pride and exuberance. Sheriff Beary also openly grieved when a deputy lost his life or was seriously injured in the line of duty.
Anyone in the business of serving and protecting a community will tell you it’s a tough, demanding job. Sheriff Beary lived for it. He was dealt a number of challenges during his terms as Sheriff. Clearly his experience and training in the realm of international terrorism made him the right man in the right place following the tragic events in New York City on September 11, 2001. Kevin Beary knew Central Florida’s reputation as an international tourist destination and the number of American icons in his region could make Orlando and surrounding areas a target for a future terrorist attack. Kevin Beary was a key player in Florida’s domestic security planning and co-chaired the Region Five Domestic Security Task Force for Central Florida. In 2004 Kevin Beary was sheriff when hurricanes Charley, Frances and Jeanne rolled through in a 44 day time span. Thanks in large part to Kevin Beary’s leadership, order was maintained in the county and his department was instrumental in assisting recovery efforts in the wake of the devastating storms.
Arguably, the history books will regard Sheriff Beary as one of the best, most well-known and active top cops who has ever served the country and his county. Sheriff Beary believes in professionalism, sound policies and procedures, and remaining proactive by using current trends in law enforcement. Beary has served in the Law Enforcement and Security fields for the past 34 years. He’s been an innovator in Community Policing, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Intelligence Lead Policing, and Violent Crime Strategies.
Kevin Beary is available as a consultant to local and international private corporations as well as law enforcement agencies on security, terrorism countermeasures and contingency planning.
